Over 3000 people visited the Barcelona Moon Team stand at the Festa al Cel in the Olimpic harbour, on Sunday October, 2nd. The visitors were able to drive the rovers over a 40m2 moon landscape carpet.

The team took advantage of this opportunity to launch its BMT Fan Club, inviting everybody to support the team in its effort to get to the Moon before 2015.  To become a member you just have to fill in a short form and you will become a member of the BMT Fan Club. After that, you will receive your official BMT_FC member card and your name and photograph will travel to the surface of the moon, loaded on the rover on our first mission.

While the launch day arrives, you can look for you at the BMT Pixel Moon, and you will be regularly informed of the progress of the team through the social channels that we have opened for you.

The Festa al Cel was also a good place to explain the program BMT School Visits, which organizes a round of visits to schools to publicize a project that not only represents an extraordinary technical and financial challenge, but it is also a great opportunity to promote interest in science, technology and entrepreneurship among young people.

For this reason, the team will travel to schools upon request, to explain the project, its objectives and the team working on it, and the rationale behind the journey to the Moon, the knowledge gained still today with science performed there, and so on.

The talk lasts about 1½ hour, and schools participating in the initiative will become partners, which will bring their name onboard the module that will roam on the Moon.
