Barcelona Moon Team at the ‘Festa al Cel’ in Barcelona. News, News (eng)

On Sunday October 2nd, Barcelona Moon Team presented their rover prototypes at our stand in the “Festa al Cel” exhibitors’ area, at the olimpic port of Barcelona. We were by side of the emulator of Patrulla Águila, the Spanish Air Force acrobatic team, and we were “competing” for the number of visitors. Finally, about 3000 people visited BMT stand.

People who visited us was able to enjoy driving the four wheeled rover prototype and some other “toy” rovers (to allow as many kids as possible participate in the event). The rovers where roaming on a lunar carpet installed along the coastline, with 15m long and 3m wide. Some rocks were simulating the lunar landscape which had to be either dribbled either climbed by the rovers.

Some technical problems on the rover arose after many hours working, but the event was very succesful in a beautiful (still) summer day in Barcelona surrounded by an amazing crowd (over 400.000!) that attended the airshow over the beaches.

The Festa al Cel arrived this year to its 20th edition and grows year after year with the participation of the aerospace industry, the Spanish Air Force, the Spanish Navy, the Spanish Army, the Barcelona-Sabadell Air Club, aerobatics champions, and international performers both civilian and military.

The program included demonstrations by the Patrulla Aguila, Patrouille de France, Patrouille Suisse, Dutch and Belgian F-16, Breitling Jet Team and many more. A beautiful day for everyone who love aeronautics and space.
